Get to know Matt Brooks, our Kansas City office General Manager. He’s been with us since June 20, 2022.

How long have you been with the company?
Two years in June.

What project(s) are you currently working on?
Derby Bay preconstruction, finishing up a Les Schwab Tire Center, a T/I for a non-profit, and growth and support for our new Kansas City office.

Favorite memory during your time at Jaco?
On one of my first days at Jaco, I made a visit to the Wichita office. Ross and his team were finishing up the Walk-Ons restaurant. They had just hung the owner’s TVs on the patio and a storm was going to be rolling through that night. Brian, Ross, myself, and 2 interns left dinner and worked until almost midnight to make sure the TVs got protected. I love to see that level of teamwork!

What is/are on your bucket list?
Australia trip or an African safari.

Favorite place to eat?
H3 Steakhouse in Fort Worth.

Drink of choice?
Water, for survival. A 7&7 for pleasure.

Favorite season?
Toss-up between Fall and Summer. Winter sucks.

If you could have a career in anything, what would it be?
Custom home-building and real estate development for lakefront lots.

Any fun facts you’d like to share?
I’ve sang with a choir in Carnegie Hall in NYC and my left leg is longer than my right.
